Dear _____________,

Sixteen-year-old Jason Martyr thinks his biggest problem is finding a girl to go out with him. Getting a date is the least of his worries when a secret government project abducts him and then coerces him into working for them.

Some people are born with the rare genetic ability to travel through time. Jason is one of these people. A ruthless group is trying to alter history and rule the world – becoming filthy rich in the process. The next attack on history will be a 1937 coup attempt aimed at deposing FDR and installing a fascist dictator in his place. If they succeed, the U.S. may never take part in World War II, setting off a chain of historical dominoes through the rest of our timeline. The government needs Jason to go back in time to disrupt the plot.

Jason wants to return to his normal life and continue the quest for Ms. Right. First, he must survive martial arts training from the most dangerous fighter in the world, and a bloody feud with another of the project’s employees. Next, he has to battle the time travelling mercenaries back in 1937 who are trying to carry out the coup. Jason can return home when the mission is complete – if he survives.

THE DESTINY MATRIX, a young adult Sci-Fi novel, is complete at 86,000 words. It has a narrative style similar to Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief, with science fiction aspects and action similar to Roland Smith’s Cryptid Hunters series. It is a stand-alone novel with series potential.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

ORIGINAL VERSION

Dear _____________,

If being shy around girls were a serious disease, sixteen-year-old Jason Martyr would be on the terminal list. When a gorgeous girl lures Jason off alone during a school party, it never crosses his mind that he is a target for abduction. The girl delivers him to a top-secret facility known as Oblivion, where time doesn’t pass. It is the home base of Project Rewind, the government’s time travel initiative.

Jason is a perfect genetic candidate to become an operative for the project. While in Oblivion, Jason receives training in skills necessary to travel back in time and complete missions for the Project. As he learns to cope with his new surroundings, he befriends an unusual mix of humans and inter-dimensional beings.

Another group also has access to time travel technology. The Masters of Infinity, a ruthless and powerful cabal, are manipulating history to expand their own wealth and cement their political control over the present and future. The Masters are backing a 1937 coup attempt aimed at deposing FDR and installing a fascist dictator in his place.

Project Rewind sends Jason back in time to disrupt the plot. If he fails, the Masters will control the course of history from that point onward. The U.S. may never take part in World War II, setting off a chain of historical dominoes and changing the face of Jason’s world.

THE DESTINY MATRIX, a young adult novel, is complete at 86,000 words. It has a narrative style similar to Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief, with science fiction aspects and action similar to Roland Smith’s Cryptid Hunters. It is a stand-alone novel with series potential.

I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism and MBA with emphasis in marketing, both from the University of Missouri.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
