More Than A Season is the story of Dayton Moore, General Manager of the Kansas City Royals. It details Moore’s career as a baseball executive, focusing on his years with the Royals. The book was written after the Royals 2014 season, when they reached the World Series for the first time since 1985.

Known for his leadership and integrity, Moore faced a huge challenge when he joined the Royals in 2006. A large portion of the book deals with how he changed the culture of the organization and converted the franchise from a perennial loser to a championship team.

Moore credits his faith for much of his success, but the book doesn’t read like a religious tract. I would have preferred more details about players and incidents, but I still found More Than A Season to be a quick and enjoyable read.
