James Scott Bell has written several legal thrillers, as well as multiple books of writing advice published by Writer’s Digest Books. I checked out Plot and Structure from my local library in search of helpful tips on story structure.
Plot and Structure does contain some useful advice. However, having previously read Bell’s Revising and Self-Editing, I got a strong sense of deja vu because of what seemed to be material that was repeated from one book to the next. Even with the repetition, there was still enough unique material to make this volume worth reading. My overall rating was 3-stars; good, but not great.
