Ghost is the most recent book by Jason Reynolds, and to my knowledge it’s his first MG effort. If you’ve read any of his earlier YA novels, you’ll find a lot of similarities in this one. It’s full of relatable and realistic chararcters, told in an engaging voice.
The first in what will apparently be a series about a track team, Ghost is a very quick read due to Reynolds’ writing style and shorter length due to its Middle Grade target audience.
I gave Ghost five stars and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I’ll be going through Reynold’s backlist in the meantime to make sure I haven’t missed any books to date.
