Luke Cage is a superhero who’s always seemed very realistic to me. I’m not disregarding his impenetrable skin or superhuman strength, but Cage has always seemed like a very grounded guy to me. He doesn’t wear outlandish costumes, and he’s very aware of the needs of his family and his community.
This graphic novel collection includes a fairly recent retelling of Cage’s origin as well as come Cage-centric stories from recent Marvel storylines. I knew Luke Cage much better after reading this book. I gave this collection 4 stars on Goodreads, I probably would have raised it to 5 stars if the stories were all part of the same storyline.
