I put this book on hold a few weeks ago, right after Don Rickles died. I enjoyed Rickles’ brand of insult humor, so I was looking forward to reading more about his life and career.
Rickles’ Book doesn’t provide a comprehensive narrative of the man’s life. Instead, it is a series of anecdotes that appear to occur in chronological order. Even though it wasn’t what I’d consider a complete memoir, what it did give me was a quick and enjoyable read.
I gave Rickles’ Book three stars on Goodreads, and may head over to YouTube to see if I can find any of Rickles’ routines on video.
