Valley of Kings is the third volume in Michael Northrop’s five-book Tombquest series. This book takes place in Egypt, where all hell is breaking loose due to scorching heat and phantom voices.

The theme of the book is betrayal, and there are several times in the book where the main characters are betrayed. This continues to be a fast-paced series, with endearing characters and high stakes.

I gave Valley of Kings five stars on Goodreads. If partial stars were possible, I would have given 4.5, rounding up to get the fifth star because I saw the biggest plot twist coming since part way through Amulet Keepers. I’m still enjoying the series, and have already started the next book, The Stone Warriors.
