This is actually a coffee table style book documenting the history of the Black Panther in Marvel comics from his 1966 debut in Fantastic Four issue #52 through the 2016 story lines leading up to the Black Panther movie release.

It surprised me that Black Panther has rarely had a comic of his own – for many years, he appeared in crossovers with the Fantastic Four and other heroes. He was a member of the Avengers for many years, but except for a few limited series, he did not star in his own book.

I gave this book five stars, not only for the amount of information it contained, but also for the beautiful artwork (including covers of significant issues). Be warned, this is not a normal sized book – while it is only about 180 pages, it is a coffee table sized book at 11″x 14″.
